Meine FRITZ!DECT 200 sind endlich da!

Im Februar bestellt und in der letzten Mai-Woche eingetroffen. Die intelligenten Steckdosen von AVM scheinen heiss begehrt zu sein. Jedenfalls kann ich jetzt über meine FRITZ!BOX aufzeichnen, wieviel Strom gewisse Geräte momentan oder aber über einen langen Zeitraum verbrauchen. Von Berufs wegen juckt's mich natürlich jedesmal in den Fingern, wenn irgendwo Messwerte anfallen. Mein Plugin check_nwc_health kann ja bereits CPU, Speicher und Interfaces einer FRITZ!BOX 7390 abfragen, also war klar, daß die Überwachung der FRITZ!DECT 200 bzw. des gemessenen Energieverbrauchs unbedingt dazugehört. Ein Monitoring-Kunde wünschte sich, dass alle WARNINGs, welche aus der Vmware-Ungebung stammen, als CRITICALs dargestellt werden. Mit dem Tool negate ist das normalerweise kein Problem, man schreibt den Check einfach um in: $USER1$/negate --warning=CRITICAL $USER1$/check_vmware_api.pl .... Leider machte mir etwas anderes einen Strich durch die Rechnung. check_vmware_api.pl schreibt nämlich eine Warnung auf STDERR raus: Subroutine IO::Socket::INET6::sockaddr_in6 redefined at /omd/sites/sagichnicht/lib/perl5/lib/perl5/Exporter.pm line 66. at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/Socket/INET6.pm line 21 Bisher hat diese Meldung nicht weiter gestört, man bekommt sie nur zu Gesicht, wenn man in Service Detais reinklickt. Jmx4Perl 1.07

It took quite some time, but now Jmx4Perl 1.07 is out with some nice bug fixes and enhancements for the Nagios plugin check_jmx4perl. There has been not much noise around jmx4perl since last October, but finally the newest bug fix release is available on CPAN with the following new features and fixes: j4psh can now autocomplete on MBean with quotes in their names. This long outstanding bug is finally fixed. There might still be issues with stranged name MBeans including various special characters, but for 99% of all MBean names autocompletion should work now. Please raise an issue if there are still problems with autocompletion in j4psh. Also for j4psh all commands working with wildcards (like cat) match now case insensitively. check_nwc_health - neuer Modus für Link Aggregation

Von einem Kunden wurde der Wunsch geäussert, Cisco Port Channels zu überwachen. Diese Technologie ist eine Art, wie man mehrere Interfaces zu einem Strang bündeln kann, sei es aus Gründen der Ausfallsicherheit oder (was mittlerweile eher seltener der Fall ist) der Lastverteilung. Üblicherweise werden Uplinks zwischen Switches auf diese Art redundant ausgelegt. Herausgekommen ist ein neues Feature, nämlich --mode link-aggregation-availability Mit --mode link-aggregation-availability wird ermittelt, wieviel Prozent der zusammengefassten Interfaces verfügbar (= OperStatus up) sind. Two new Jolokia releases (1.1.0 and 1.1.1) in the past month add some nice new features. Spring support A new module jolokia-spring has been added which makes integration of Jolokia in Spring applications even easier. Mit dem neuen Feature interface-availability von check_nwc_health überwacht man die Anzahl noch verfügbarer Ports an einem Router oder Switch. Als besonderes Gimmick gibt es eine Übersicht über alle vorhandenen Ports und deren Verfügbarkeitsstatus dazu. Ein Port gilt als verfügbar, wenn: AdminStatus ist "up", OperStatus ist seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr "up" AdminStatus ist "down" Der Zeitdauer, während der ein Port im OperStatus "down" o.ä. sein muss, um als nicht mehr produktiv zu gelten, beträgt defaultmäßig 30 Minuten (1800 Sekunden), kann aber durch Verwendung des Parameters --lookback geändert werden. While I was preparing an excercise for a Jolokia workshop, strange things happened. For the sake of simplicity (and because I like its small footprint), I’ve chosen Jetty as platform for some JMX programing exercise. A simple servlet should expose som JMX MBeans. I added some simple counters to the Servlet, but wanted to show also how easily Jolokia can serialize complex objects. Ok, why not exposing the ServletContext itself ?
